The University of Sheffield’s Project Sunshine aims to harness the power of the sun to tackle the biggest challenge facing the world today: meeting the increasing food and energy needs of the world’s population in the context of an uncertain climate and global environment change.

Project Sunshine unites scientists across the traditional boundaries in both the pure and applied sciences. Together, they are looking for new ways to use the sun’s energy more efficiently to increase food production and provide more renewable energy.

Challenge

The University of Sheffield needed a website to showcase all the collective research undertaken across the different disciplines at the University, whilst also highlighting the impact to society if these issues are not addressed.

Approach

The branding of the project was undertaken by Leeds-based agency who also created the visuals for the website.

Working with the website visuals I developed a CMS-less, static site as the updates were not intended to be frequent and the web editor tasked with managing the website post-launch felt confident in their ability to update the code should they need to.
