The University of Sheffield's Project Sunshine aims to harness the power of the sun to tackle the biggest challenge facing the world today: meeting the increasing food and energy needs of the world's population in the context of an uncertain climate and global environment change.
Project Sunshine unites scientists across the traditional boundaries in both the pure and applied sciences. Together, they are looking for new ways to use the sun’s energy more efficiently to increase food production and provide more renewable energy.
The branding of the project was undertaken by an external agency, who also created the visuals for the website.
As the Project Sunshine website was only intended to be static and informational, it wasn't necessary to use a content management system (CMS) as the web editor tasked with owning the website post-launch felt confident in their ability to update the code should they need to.
